What would probably be good concerning this forum is if perhaps you were able to sign up for threads that you make; Is this viable?

Smile Lead Safe certification

well the good news is that there is a company doing lead safe certification and it takes one day not two as previously posted and they have all the lead check swabs you would ever need and they are cheep and no back order and as far as the comment that this is a dead issue regarding lead if it was a "dead issue "for 30 years why are there still kids with lead poisining? As contractors we have a responsobility to stay informed! send me an email if you want the company that is doing the course and has the lead check. lovenrick and thats at yahoo

Sure folks still can get lead poising, but what is startling is that there are is no solid statistics that show that this lead poising is directly related to lead in lead paint. It is interesting to note is that while lead has not been used for over 30 years, even prior to the 1978 mandated stop of lead paint that all through the late 60's and into the 70's there was an ever decreasing use of lead in paint thanks to the development of better latex based paints. My question is, is there really that much lead based paint out there to cause "all" these problems after 30, even 40 years later? What is ironic is that somehow the blame and the further protection of folks are put on the contractor. Sure it is wise to take safe measures when doing renovation type work, but really where does the government mandated rules and regulations end? If you take it a step further, in this country, childhood obesity and juvenile diabetes is nearly epidemic and surly will cause more deaths and long term health problems but we do no not have mandated rules and regulations with ridiculous fines attached to them to control these bigger issues.

I just deleted half this thread as obvious spam which is what I think the initial post was (just to get in). That third post is so far off topic that I have to believe it is some sort of weird spam too but they usually link it up. Fu's response is good so I left it in for now. I'm betting in one of my mass spam deletion rounds this gets caught up in it. Sorry if that happens Fu. Feel free to start a new discussion about lead testing and paint if you don't want to risk losing your post.
