If you had to ask people what tasks around the house they hate to do more than anything, chances are you are going to hear a lot of people say cleaning the gutters. It falls somewhere after cleaning windows and just before spit-shining the toilet. While gutter cleaning may be an unpleasant job, it's also a necessary one. Clogged gutters can cause many serious problems around the house, including pooling water that can damage the foundation, the sidewalk, or the driveway. The gutters can also increase the risk of leaking roofs.

I don't think i've ever cleaned out gutters. I think pouring gasoline on the leaves and lighting a match might be a fun alternative!

People don't realize how important it is to keep them clean. I have seen a great deal of rot that was caused by clogged gutters.

I was up on a customers roof yesterday and her gutter were completly filled to the top with pine needles. She would be better off just taking the gutter down because she has so many pine trees around that they get filled up with in weeks of getting them cleaned. She has had rot issues too already.
