Arrow Moving a Storage or Garden Shed - Cheap, Easy and Safe

Most people would have no idea how to go about moving a large storage or garden shed. It seems like an insurmountable task, or something that could result in a lot of damage if not done correctly. Well, we know how to do it correctly and moved a 12 x 10 shed about 50 feet across uneven terrain from one end of our yard to another, even steering around a tree that was in our way. We'll show you how...

I've done a sikilar move with galvanized before (had it handy). Next time I'll nab some PVC. You make it look easy - fess up, what went wrong!?

The real crazy moves are the small structures that have no floors and are on slab. That gets more complicated and you have to rig internal bracing

I got it! For New Orleans, they need to rebuild the houses with either rollers under them or with inflatable rafts so that when the levies look like they are going to break, they can move them around like your shed. Then everyone can stay and be safe.

I have seen them move whole houses in a similar manor. There are many times in the area where I am from where the land is worth a lot of money but the home is not and a new person will purchase the house and land for just the land and will often donate the house to who ever will move it. It is a pretty funny site to see a whole house going down the high on the back of a special flat bed truck complete with a police escort.

I told a friend about this and how you guys moved that shed and I think he is going to try. I try to remember to report back how it goes if he does it.

It would be even funnier to see one rolling along on PVC with some dude with jacks running after it... lol

Default Large RV shed moved with 2 tractors

I moved a large 40' long wooden RV shed using two garden tractors. Lifted at both ends and carefully maneuvered with two decently tight turns.

If you have a large shed to move or just want to watch the fun check it out.
