Arrow Concrete Pinners Tests and Comparisons

We don't do a ton of work that involves the use of concrete pinners, but the tools have always fascinated us - particularly because they come in two compelling flavors: gas or pneumatic... and also because, well, shooting a gas version is very much like shooting a pistol. A really large, bulky pistol. In fact, OSHA requires operators of PATs (Powder Actuated Tools) to take a training course, complete with testing and certification. And you have to be certified for each brand you use. If that isn't a reason to be brand-loyal, I don't know what is. Our colleagues over at Tools of the Trade tested 12 such concrete pinners and had an excellent time working with the tools, judging by their results and the testing methodologies used.

OSHA requires training for PAT tools aka powder actuated tools... .27 cal. Gas and pneumatic do not fall under the same category and do not require certification.
